Who's the Boss?

This afternoon, I was laying on my bed trying to feel a little less miserable from overstuffing myself on my Chipotle lunch and homemade ice cream that we made today in my preschool class when Payton and Bransyn climbed on the bed and laid with me. Not sure how or why it started, but they started up a conversation about who the boss is. They were each saying that they were, then it moved to mama is the boss or daddy is the boss. After several minutes of the back and forth exchange, Payton finally decided that her Kindergarten teacher is the boss which Bransyn replied with a nuh-uh. After several minutes of the uh-huh and nuh-uh exchange, Bransyn piped up in her most serious voice, "actually God is the more bosser!" :)

Big Boo-Boo

Two weeks ago today, my mom left with their puppy, Jake. That evening we noticed that Tank was acting a little...not quite right. Jeff and I kept asking him if he was missing his brother and that was why he was acting funny. Obviously, we weren't actually getting an answer from him! :) Later that night, Jeff made a comment that he seemed to be favoring his left front leg so I played around with it a little, but there wasn't much reaction from him so we figured he was fine. The next day, he still wasn't acting right...not playing with Tyson like he normally would and laying around more than usual. I noticed that he really was favoring his leg, to the point of not walking on it at all. I gently squeezed up and down on the leg and the poor little guy started whimpering. Oh, bummer!!! I called the vet and was able to take him in. Much to my dismay, partially because of his pain and partially because of the hit our checking accout took, poor Tankers has a non-displaced fracture in his leg. Oh, BIG bummer! Thankfully, it wasn't a displaced fracture because that would have been more painful for him...and much more expensive for us! :) It took about a day, with some pain medicine and him getting used to his leg being wrapped up to get back to normal. Once he got used to it, there was no stopping him! :) Hopefully he'll be able to have the wrap taken off in a couple of weeks.

Is that face just not cute and pathetic, or what?! :)

Art Show 2010

I absolutely LOVE the art show that the Child Development Center where I work and Bransyn attends, puts on every year. It is so neat to see the creative things the teachers come up with and to see how each little one makes it their very own "masterpiece".

Bransyn with her Modern Art Collage
Her teachers told me that she didn't want to stop putting things on her picture. They finally had to tell her that it was time to call it finished. :)

Kite Finger Painting

Colored Sand Flower
Bransyn was very excited for the art show and couldn't wait for us to see her art. She did such a great job....all the kids did!

Easter Sunday

Easter baskets...

ready for church...
playing and cotton candy...
cotton candy mustaches...

dyeing eggs...

first egg and we already have a spill

putting faces on their eggs...

time to eat 'em...
Easter baskets, egg hunts and dyeing eggs are all fun, but the true and most important reason we celebrate Easter is to remember that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and then rose again on the third day.

Oh puppy, or should I say puppIES!!

One puppy has now become THREE!!! What did I agree to?????

When the girls, Tank and I went to my parents over Spring Break, my parents thought Tank was just so cute and said that they would take one of the puppies if there were any left. There weren't...they were all spoken for the day we got Tank, almost 3 weeks ago. As it turns out, whoever was suppose to be taking two of the puppies couldn't after all. I called my parents and they said they would take one of them. Jeff decided, and I, somewhat reluctantly agreed that we would take the other puppy. Oh my, oh my!! The first day was a little rough, by the end of the night, I...WAS...EXHAUSTED!!! It was a constant pee and poo cleanup, spending several hours outside with them so that they couldn't potty in the house and keeping them from chewing on anything they could get their little teeth on. At first when I showed up home with them, Tank was TICKED!! He even kept growling and snapping at me when I tried to go near him. I had to break up a couple of fights that starting getting a little too vicious sounding for my taste. By the end of the day though, they were buddies and get along great now. My mom will come the middle of next week or we will meet them half way on Sat. to give them their little guy so until then, we have 3 puppies. One for each girl and yet they still manage to fight about them. Now instead of fighting over one and who gets to hold him, now they fight over which one they are going to hold. So ridiculous!!!

Bsyn with the puppies the morning we brought them home
Tank on the left, Jake in the middle (mom and dad's) and Tyson on the right
Tank weighs 3.3 lbs. (turns out he was the runt of the litter), Jake weighs 4.7 lbs. and Tyson weighs 4.5 lbs.
Tank and Jake have similar coloring, but Tyson is all white except for black patches on his ear, over his eye and by his tail. They are all so adorable!
finally getting along and snoozing together on Bsyn's lap
