VBS, Grandparents and Friends

The girls really enjoyed their first Vacation Bible School of the summer at my friends church. Now two more to go! :)

Payton doing a little performance before the performance actually started. What a nut!

Kendal really got into doing all the motions for the five songs the kids "sang" for us. It's a good thing the soundtrack was being played at the same time with the words because most of the kids had to focus too hard to get all the motions right that they couldn't sing at the same time. Everyone was so stinkin' cute!!

Apparently the evening VBS and staying up late has taken it's toll!! A big yawn from Payton during their performance. She ended up sitting out with me for the last couple of songs.

Grandma and Papa S came to see the girls, and I guess Jeff and I, but mostly the girls. :) We had a great time with them and it was nice that they were able to be here for Kendal's birthday party with her friends.

We had Kendal's birthday party at one of the local pools with 10 of her friends. We had almost 40 people there when you count in all of us and other families that came. WOW!! We had tons of fun. Having Grandma and Papa there was a HUGE help with the food AND Payton and Bransyn. Kendal was very excited about her Hannah Montana birthday cake! Silly girl!!

Here's Kendal surrounded by all of her presents from her friends. SERIOUSLY?!?!
Can you say SPOILED ROTTEN BRAT?!?! :)

Daddy with his girls after the party. Everyone was pretty tuckered out.

The girls having fun in the pool that Grandma and Papa got them while they were here.

Until next time...

"Conversation" with Payton

ME: Payton, you need to pick up your toys and shoes and put them where they belong.

PAYTON: I don't want to

ME: I didn't ask you if you wanted to, put them away NOW!

(she says something that I didn't quite get)

ME: Did you say you were going to Ms. Renee and Ms. Gloria's?

PAYTON: NO, I SAID, I am going to Ms. Renee's

ME: What about Ms. Gloria?

PAYTON: I'll go there tomorrow

ME: OK then, let me get you some things packed and open the door for you

PAYTON: Maybe I'll go another day

ME: That's what I thought, now then, do as I told you and put your toys in the playroom and your shoes in your closet and wait for me in your bedroom

PAYTON: Sorry, Mommy

ME: Hmmm...do what I said

She did what I said and got her things put away and waited for her punishment. She got punished not so much because of the conversation itself, but because of the mouthy, snotty way she was talking to me. I did, however think it was pretty cute that she wanted to head off to Ms. Renee and Ms. Gloria's. :) They are her CDC teachers from last year for those of you who don't know them.

Until next time...

"School's Out For Summer!!!!"

While I am glad that school is now out...no more early mornings dragging Kendal out of bed, no more fixing lunches, no more running around the house like crazy people because we are running late. The flip side to that is that we have officially been on summer break for 3 hours and the girls are already fighting. If this keeps up we are in for a real "fun" summer.

Kendal did great this year. She improved so much on everything and was on the Honor Roll all year. WOOOOOHOOOOO!! Way to go, kid!! She reconnected with friends from last year and made some new friends.

Here she is with some of her friends in class and her sisters who just had to be in the picture as well. The girl in purple, Aiswari, was her best bud in class. She was always going on about "Aiswari this and Aiswari that". One day I told her she couldn't say her name anymore for the rest of the day. Man, that is so bad!!! :) She's a sweet girl and we hope to see her over summer.

yummy, yummy pizza

Here she is with her teacher Mrs. Nutt (and sisters who couldn't be left out again). Before school started, when we were talking to her about 1st grade starting and told her that her teacher was going to be Mrs. Nutt, she kinda giggled and said, "You mean like, 'you're a nut'?" She was sent off to school with the warning that she better not say that to her teacher. It took a few days for her not to giggle every time her name was said. Kendal loved her teacher and is sad that she won't be back next year. Makes ya wonder what kid drove her away. Hmmm....no way it was mine! :) She is moving on to bigger and better, if being a school counselor is bigger and better. She said in her 13 years of teaching that this class was one of her top three. So proud that my girl was in it!!!!!!!!!!!

Now...something that has nothing to do with school being out, but something that I think is just great. Back in January, Kendal lost her second tooth at school and in April she wrote a note at school to the tooth fairy that came home today with her other things. Don't know why when it was three months later, but April it was. Here is her note to the tooth fairy, as she wrote it.

Dear Tooth Fary

My name is kendal I loost 2 teeth I am a good prson and for losing 2 teeth I want a Barbelap top. I go to a scool cold Vickery Elumichy Where do you Live? My teachers name is Mrs. Nutt. She is a nice theachr. Do you build your house out of teeth? Whant is your favorie Coler? Love Kendal

And guess what?! The good ol' tooth fairy sent back a reply. Oh, yes she did!!

Dear Kendal,

Thank you for writing me such a nice letter. I know that you are a very smart girl and did a great job in first grade this year. I know that you are doing a good job with brushing your teeth. I am sorry that I will not be able to give you a Barbie laptop when you lose teeth. That is a little too much for me. I only give small prizes. When I get teeth I use them to make jewelry and to help build a big castle! My favorite color is WHITE, that is why I like to collect teeth. I hope that you have a fun summer. I can't wait to come to your house again when you lose another tooth.

Love,

The Tooth Fairy

Isn't it great?! While we were reading this together though, she did ask me, "Mommy is that really from the tooth fairy?" I just responded with, "Why do you ask?" Bransyn distracted her and the conversation was over, so in our house at least, the tooth fairy lives another day! :)

Until next time...

Sweet Friends

My friend Allyson is THE BEST!!!! She showed me how to get the pics from my camera to my computer, which seriously, could not have been any easier. I am soooooooo lame! :) After a little playing around, I finally got some pics on my page.
I just HAD to put this one on because it is just too cute. The boys were here to play and they loaded Bransyn's bed up with just about every stuffed animal that we own. Those animals are now covering the girls' bedroom floor, but they had tons of fun and that is really what it's all about. Well.....sometimes anyway!! :) I just don't know what we would do without our friends. Thanks boys for coming to play with us, we had fun--see you soon! Thank you, thank you Allyson for helping out a big nerd, you are my hero! HAHAHA :)
